Part Time COLTS Van Driver

Lee County is seeking qualified applicants for a part- time Van Driver in the County of Lee Transit System.  Employee will work from 25 to 35 hours per week.  The essential function of the job is to drive a van on a scheduled route to transport individuals to and from various locations within Lee County.  The ability to lift is extremely important in assisting clients in wheelchairs into and out of the vans in a safe manner.  Additional responsibilities include maintaining records such as time at each stop, purpose of trip, number of passengers per day, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.  Independent judgment must be exercised in handling unusual situations arising with passengers.  Hourly rate of pay is $13.00.  Employee must be at least 21 years old, have a valid NC Drivers License, and a good driving record.  Experience in operation of large automotive equipment is also desirable.  Employee must be able to become certified in passenger assistance, defensive driver and first aid training. Applicants will be required to submit a copy of their driving record for the last three years along with the employment application.  Driving records may be obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). 

Pre-employment drug testing is required.
