Health and Well-being Initiative

As part of the RENEW Health and Well Being Initiative, Lee County is currently accepting sealed proposals from licensed mental health clinicians to contract with the County to provide selected services for individuals referred by the Community Social Worker.  The RFP may be found here:

On October 2, 2023, the Lee County Board of Commissioners voted to approve the Lee County’s Health and Wellbeing Initiative, which will be financed with revenue loss monies from the Coronavirus American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.

Lee County Government recognizes that many residents need assistance to help improve both their physical and mental health. As such, the Board of Commissioners has approved the use of $500,000.00 of ARPA funds to be used in the Health and Well-Being Initiative to enhance mental health services to our community residents. Of this amount, $250,000.00 will be allocated for use for contract services through the new Lee County Community Social Worker. The remaining $250,000.00 will be allocated for reimbursement services which are provided by  non-profits. This reimbursement fund program will be open to approved community non-profit providers in Lee County that currently provide supportive and treatment services to with individuals in Lee County that have mental health needs. 

All applications for non-profits must be received by 5:00 p.m. on November 6, 2023.  Applications maybe dropped of to the County Manager's Office at 408 Summit Drive or emailed to anoel@leecountync.gov. Organizations must meet the criteria on the "Application Qualification Checklist" to qualify. The list of qualifying organizations will be approved by the Board of Commissioners at the November 20, 2023 Board meeting.
