FORTE PRICE INCREASE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2022

LEE COUNTY, NC — September 29, 2022 — Lee County currently partners with a third-party vendor that provides convenience payment systems within multiple county departments. Due to increased fees created by major credit card brands, ACH networking fees, rising labor costs, and increased vendor costs, this third-party vendor is increasing their prices effective October 1, 2022.

Who does this affect?

Consumers utilizing credit/debit card purchases at the following departments – Health, Library, Recreation, and Solid Waste

October 1, 2022

Why is there an increase?

Third-party vendor fees increasing due to:

  • Major Credit Card Companies increasing their fees
  • ACH networking fee increase
  • Vendor cost increase

What are the associated costs?

Point of Sale and Web-transactions

  • Credit Card Convenience Fee (percent with minimum amount) 0.05% and $0.05
  • ETF Convenience Fee – Tiered $0.05
