KIWANIS CHILDREN'S PARK TO UNDERGO PHASE II RENOVATIONS

LEE COUNTY, NC – May 24, 2024 – Kiwanis Children's Park (101 Park Ave.) is gearing up for another exciting transformation as it embarks on Phase II of its Comprehensive Master Plan. Beginning on Tuesday, May 28th, a portion of the park will be temporarily closed to include the playground and surrounding green space to begin construction of these enhancements, which will aim to create a more inclusive and enjoyable recreational space for families and children of all abilities. The tennis courts & pickleball courts will remain open for their intended use.

Highlights of the upcoming improvements include:
1. New Playground for Ages 2-5: A state-of-the-art playground tailored to the developmental needs and interests of toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring a safe and engaging play environment.
2. Renovated Bathrooms: Upgraded restroom facilities to enhance visitor comfort and convenience, aligning with modern standards of cleanliness and accessibility.
3. New Shelter: A newly constructed shelter area offering respite from the elements, providing families and groups with a comfortable space to relax and unwind amidst the park's scenic surroundings.
4. ADA Sidewalks Throughout the Park: Implementation of ADA-compliant sidewalks, ensuring that all areas of the park are easily accessible to individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and equal enjoyment for all.

We appreciate the community's patience and understanding while the construction of these improvements is underway. Lee County Parks and Recreation looks forward to welcoming visitors back to Kiwanis Children's Park Place to experience its revitalized amenities.
