Part Time Animal Caretaker

Description of Work: 
Performs cleaning and feeding for animals located at the San-Lee Nature Center. 
Animals include but not limited to turtles, snakes, frogs and raptors. The position also 
answers questions from the public while in the Nature Center and enforces policies, 
rules and regulations at San-Lee Park.

Requirements:
Preferred applicant must be at least 16 years old, enrolled in or graduated from high 
school and have reliable transportation. Some knowledge of North Carolina fauna and 
some experience working with animals. Must be able to work weekends and some 
holidays. Must be responsible and able to follow written instructions. A valid North 
Carolina Driver’s License is required.

Position will remain open until filled. First review of applicants will be October 5th, 2022.

Lee County seeks an innovative customer service driven professional to join our team as 
Animal Caretaker. This position works collaboratively with the Recreation Programmer-Outdoor Education & Recreation Programs to perform caretaking duties for animals 
located in the San-Lee Nature Center. Weekly schedule is flexible.
