Lee County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Sheriff in the Sheriff’s Department. Performs intermediate protective service work enforcing laws, patrolling assigned area, investigating criminal activity, serving civil and criminal papers, ensuring safety of the public, testifying in court, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Patrol Lieutenant.                                                                          

Requires a high school diploma supplemented by six to nine months of law enforcement experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess N.C. Law Enforcement certifications; must possess a valid State driver’s license.

Applications may be obtained from and returned to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, 1401 Elm St. Sanford, NC 27330. Pre-employment drug testing and NC Criminal Background check are required. This position will remain open until filled.
