Lee County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Tax Collector in the Tax Office.  The employee is responsible for collecting taxes over the counter and through the mail; prepares or assists in preparing daily, monthly and yearly reports of receipts; balances delinquent taxes and fees.  Work in the office is characterized by the overseeing and coordinating the garnishment and bank attachment process.  The employee must use independent judgement in a wide variety of current and delinquent collection activities, and must exercise considerable tact and firmness in dealing with the public.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the Tax Collection Manager.

Graduation from high school.  Experience in tax or financial work, preferably with experience in collections or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
