Lifeguards (Part-Time)

Description of Work:
The Lee County Parks & Recreation Department is currently seeking part-time lifeguards for the upcoming pool season. Lifeguards are responsible for preventing accidents in and around the swimming pool, enforcing all rules and regulations, guarding for public swim, swim lessons, camps, and daycare centers. Lifeguards will also assist in daily facility cleaning, attend in-service training sessions, and providing CPR or first aid when necessary. All work is performed under the direct supervision of the Pool Manager. Hours include nights, weekday, and weekend hours May-September. All required training and certifications will be provided. Candidates will be contacted in March for interviews in April.

 

Requirements:
Applicants must be 15 years of age or older. A current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or the ability to obtain certifications (Swim 300 yards, tread water for 2 mins with no hands and a timed brick retrieval from deep water). The Lee County Parks & Recreation Department will provide paid training for new hires without current certifications. Swim team experience preferred but not required. Applicants must be highly dependable, responsible individuals. Candidates must willingly submit to a background check. Applicants who are under the age of 18 must have a youth employment certificate.
