Income Maintenance Caseworker II - Family and Children's Medicaid

Duties/Responsibilities: This worker will be one of sixteen (16) Income Maintenance Caseworkers assigned to administer the eligibility process for Family and Children's Medicaid and sub-programs. Included are MAF (Aid to Families Medicaid), MPW (Pregnant Woman Coverage), MIC (Indigent Child Medicaid), NC Health Choice, and Medicaid for 19-20-year-olds. This worker will maintain a caseload composed of MAF, MIC, MPW, HSP, and IAS cases. This worker will also take applications on a rotating basis and process applications taken.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Considerable knowledge of the program/areas of assignment. General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures. Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures. Ability to instruct and to evaluate the work of lower level employees. Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames.

This position will be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This position could be subject to overtime, which is given in the form of comp. time.

Minimum Education/Experience: One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker. Preference will be given to those individuals with current Family and Children's Medicaid experience and NC FAST training/knowledge.

Employees may be called upon in case of disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Lee County. This service, if required, will take precedence over duties described in this position vacancy announcement.

**If no qualified IMC II applications are received, we will consider a Work Against position with less than 1 year of IMC I experience.
Salary/Grade: IMC I Grade 61
Starting Salary: $33,684.00
