Income Maintenance Caseworker II (Adult Medicaid)

Duties/Responsibilities: This position is one of eight workers in the Adult Medicaid Unit. This worker is assigned to the hospital to initiate applications for the Indigent Care Program; Adult Medicaid and sub-programs (MAA), (MAD), (MQB), (SAA), (SAD); Family and Children's Medicaid and sub-programs (MAF, MIC, NCHC, MPW). This worker will also maintain a caseload consisting of MAA, MAD, and MQB - all classes. This worker is responsible for interviewing, investigating, and processing all new private living Adult Medicaid applications taken at the hospital for MAA, MAD, and MQB - all classes. All other Medicaid applications will be taken and forwarded to the DSS office where they will be assigned to a caseworker in the office for processing. This worker must respond appropriately to questions and concerns of patients and family members in all Medicaid categories; as well as address changes in reserve income, spousal deeming, spousal protection, and estate recovery. This position may be called upon at any time to perform additional duties when needed. Good organizational, time management, and computer skills are a must.

Employees may be called upon in case of disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Lee County. This service, if required, will take precedence over duties described in this position vacancy announcement.

Minimum Education/Experience: One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
