Social Worker II - Foster Care/Adoptions Recruiter/Trainer

Duties/Responsibilities: This position's primary responsibilities include recruitment of potential foster/adoptive parents, training current and potential foster parents, assessing potential foster/adoptive families, and licensing of foster and adoptive homes. This position work with removal and foster care social workers to locate placement for children coming into foster care and when placements disrupt. Other responsibilities include: Acting as the liaison to the Lee County Foster Parent Association; conducing Interstate Compact (ICPC) and inter-county requests for assessment of relative and kinship homes, and providing the required monitoring after placement of children in these homes. Additionally, this position will assist with CPS on-call, LINKS, and Foster Care case management and other duties as needed. Lastly, this position will be the liaison between the public and agency as it relates to foster home recruitment and retention. The trainer must be flexible in scheduling events as weekend and night meetings are not uncommon.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: BSW from an accredited school of social work; OR a four-year degree in a human service field from an accredited college/university and one year directly related experience; OR graduation from a four-year accredited college/university and two years directly related experience.

Preferred Education/Experience: BSW from an accredited school of social work with completion of the collaborative program.

Employees may be called upon in case of disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Lee County. This service, if required, will take precedence over duties described in this position vacancy announcement.
