About Our Office

The mission of Lee County Veterans Service is to pursue a high quality of life for local veterans, their families and their survivors.

It is our goal to increase public awareness of the services available to veterans and their families. We advocate for Lee County veterans and their families by assisting them in obtaining the benefits to which they are entitled.

Veterans Services is part of Lee County Senior Services.   Veterans Services office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Veterans Services provides information about veterans rights and entitlements under various local, state and federal laws, actively assists them in filling out necessary forms, and obtains documents and other evidence to forward to the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs for review and presentation to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The Veterans Service Office processes claims for the following:

  • Disabilities Compensation (Service Connected)
  • Disabilities Pension (Non-Service Connected)
  • Educational Benefits
  • Insurance (Life)
  • Death and Burial Benefits
  • Health Care (Hospital, Clinic, Nursing Home)
  • State Veterans Benefits

We support all local veterans organizations and the Lee County Veterans Council. The office offers support for homebound veterans and/or veterans and dependents confined in nursing homes to ensure continuation of benefits.
