North Carolina General Statute 130A-309.09A requires each unit of local government, either individually or in cooperation with other units of local government, to develop a 10 year comprehensive solid waste management plan to be updated every three years. The Lee County planning area consisting of Lee County’s unincorporated areas, the City of Sanford and the Town of Broadway, has prepared this fifth update to its Solid Waste Management Plan originally submitted in 1997.
