LEE COUNTY, NC – March 18, 2022 – The Lee Community Action Network (LeeCAN) “A Healthy Carolinians Partnership”, Central Carolina Hospital and the Lee County Health Department are launching the 2022 Community Health Assessment survey today and are asking for the public’s feedback on the community’s health.

The survey is available on the both the County’s and CCH’s websites, and will be open until August 31, 2022.

A Community Health Assessment (CHA) occurs every four years and is required by the State of North Carolina. The CHA is a process by which community members gain an understanding of the health concerns and health-care systems of the community by identifying, collecting, analyzing and disseminating information on community assets, strengths, resources and needs.  This is accomplished by using a compilation of state and local statistical data (primary sources) collected through a community health survey and “Listening Sessions.”

In addition to the online survey, the CHA will be distributed in a variety of formats to various locations.  Hard copies will be placed in key locations such as the public schools, Chamber of Commerce, Central Carolina Hospital, the Health Department, the local public library and given to administrative bodies.  Hard copies will be available upon request as well.

“The Community Health Assessment is an important planning tool for our community and for the Health Department as we work to improve the overall health and well-being of Lee County.  Your input is crucial as our goal is to utilize the data shared and develop action plans based on the responses provided.” shared Heath Cain, Lee County Health Director.  “We appreciate any and all feedback provided as we all can work together to improve the health of our citizenry.”
