LEE COUNTY, NC – January 7, 2022 – The Lee County Government (LCG) Enrichment Center is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards.
Nomination forms are available at the Enrichment Center, located at 1615 South Third Street in Sanford, or online at www.volunteernc.org.
Completed nomination forms must be submitted to the Enrichment Center by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
The annual awards program was created in 1979 and provides an opportunity to recognize the state’s most dedicated volunteers. Each county in North Carolina is able to select ten individuals, businesses, groups/teams and one paid Director of Volunteers to be recognized for outstanding contributions to their communities. One of the ten selected will also be nominated for the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service that is awarded to the top twenty volunteers in the state.
