COVID-19 BOOSTER VACCINES NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL 18 YEARS OR OLDER

LEE COUNTY, NC – November 23, 2021 – The Lee County Health Department will administer the Moderna Covid-19 booster vaccine, the Pfizer-BioNtech booster vaccine, and the Johnson and Johnson booster vaccine at our vaccination clinics beginning next Tuesday, November 30th at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center from 9 am – 11 am to all who are 18 years of age and older.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have approved these booster vaccines for certain populations.

After November 30th, vaccination clinics will be held on the following dates at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center:

  • December 7th from 9-11 am
  • December 14th from 9-11 am
  • January 4th from 9-11 am

Federal guidelines do allow for the mixing of the various brands of vaccine.  If you are considering a booster vaccine from another manufacturer or if you are unsure whether you are eligible for an additional dose (booster shot) of the COVID-19 vaccine, this should be discussed with your primary care physician.

Heath Cain, Director of the LCHD said, “We now have the resources to provide booster vaccines to all Lee County residents 18 years of age who wish to receive the booster.  This will allow many of us to be better protected as we enter the holiday season to spend time with family and friends.  If you have are interested, we have a spot for your shot.”

Appointments may be scheduled:

The Dennis Wicker Civic Center is located at 1801 Nash Street in Sanford. Any individual who is interested in receiving the booster vaccine must bring their Covid-19 vaccination card with them and proof of ID to streamline the vaccination process.
