BOOSTER VACCINATION CLINIC OCTOBER 12TH

LEE COUNTY, NC – October 5, 2021 – The Lee County Health Department will administer the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster vaccine at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center October 12th from 9 am – 12 pm.  Please see the current guidance below from CDC to see if you qualify.    

CDC recommends:

  • People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series;
  • People aged 50 to 64 with certain underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series;
  • People 18 to 49 who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 due to certain underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks; and 
  • People aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.

If you are not sure whether you are eligible for an additional dose (booster shot) of the COVID-19 vaccine, you can discuss it with your primary care physician.

The Dennis Wicker Civic Center is located at 1801 Nash Street in Sanford. Any individual who is interested in receiving the booster vaccine must bring their COVID-19 vaccination card with them and proof of ID to streamline the vaccination process.
