County Board of Elections Moves to Elm Street

LEE COUNTY, NC – September 10, 2021 – After undergoing renovations and a relocation, the Lee County Board of Elections Department is now operating near the historic Lee County Courthouse.

The Board of Elections, now located at 1503 Elm Street, Sanford, Suite #1, will operate during its normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and can be reached at 919-718-4646 or by email at elections@leecountync.gov.

The relocation stemmed from a need to comply with ADA standards for accessibility, to increase parking spaces and storage space within the building, and to provide accessibility that is convenient for the public.

The Lee County Board of Commissioners will discuss future plans for the now vacant Board of Elections building at an upcoming meeting.

“We are so excited about our new space,” said Board of Elections Director Jane Rae Fawcett. “And we will continue to preserve and promote impartial elections for the citizens of Lee County.”

The next Municipal Election is for the Town of Broadway on November 2, 2021.
