LEE COUNTY, NC – April 23, 2021 – Lee County Government (LCG) Senior Services has opened registration for the 2021 Senior Games and Silver Arts (SGSA) of Lee County. The 2021 SGSA will take place June 2nd through the 18th and will comprise both in-person and virtual events to allow for greater participation. Events are open to adults age 50 or older and registration fees have been waived for all 2021 participants.
“We are very happy to offer the Senior Games and Silver Arts of Lee County in 2021 after having to cancel last year’s event due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Debbie Davidson, LCG Senior Services Director. “Event staff and volunteers will continue to observe pandemic protocols and guidelines to help ensure all participants remain safe and healthy throughout the competition series; and for those uncomfortable competing in-person, we have arranged for a number of opportunities to compete virtually.”
The 2021 SGSA of Lee County will be a hybrid event with a mix of in-person and virtual events. To avoid large group gathering concerns, the 2021 SGSA will not include an Opening Ceremony. Additionally, all Silver Arts events will be virtual, while the Senior Games events will include a combination of in-person and virtual competition opportunities.
Registration fees for 2021 have been waived; however, event fees for bowling (fees vary) and golf ($50/person) still apply. Registration forms must be completed and returned by May 15th; forms are available online at leecountync.gov/departments/seniorservices or at the Lee County Enrichment Center located at 1615 South Third Street in Sanford.
