LEE COUNTY, NC – June 29, 2020 – Lee County Government (LCG) Health Department confirmed a total of 806 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. This includes 24 new cases reported on Saturday, June 27th; 21 cases on Sunday, June 28th; and eight cases today, Monday, June 29th. No additional information about individual cases will be shared by the LCG Health Department in order to maintain patient privacy.
The Health Department continues to monitor 231 individuals while 567 individuals have resumed normal activities. The county reports eight laboratory confirmed COVID-19 deaths.

The Health Department also announced two additional COVID-19 drive-thru community testing events today that will take place on Tuesday, July 7th and Tuesday, July 28th at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center in Sanford. Daily event times have been extended and will run from 8:30 AM until 6 PM at each event. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
To register for either the July 7th or July 28th testing events, please call (919) 542-4991 ext. 1015 for English or 1016 for Spanish. Calls will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 5 PM and on Saturday from 8 AM until 1 PM. Please note that due to the July 4th holiday, calls will not be accepted on Friday, July 3rd or Saturday, July 4th.
The Health Department reminds county residents to wear face masks in public, watch your distance to maintain social distancing of six feet or more, and wash hands thoroughly and frequently. If you are sick, please stay home and away from others.
