LEE COUNTY REPORTS TWENTY-SEVEN NEW CASES OF COVID-19 SINCE WEDNESDAY

LEE COUNTY, NC – June 26, 2020 – Lee County Government (LCG) Health Department confirmed a total of 753 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.  This includes ten new cases reported on Thursday, June 25th and seventeen cases today, Friday, June 26th.  No additional information about individual cases will be shared by the LCG Health Department in order to maintain patient privacy. 

The Health Department continues to monitor 194 individuals while 551 individuals have resumed normal activities.  The county reports eight laboratory confirmed COVID-19 deaths.

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services has added county level demographic data to their COVID-19 dashboard found at covid19.ncdhhs.gov/dashboard/cases.  Beginning next week, the county will transition to a weekly COVID-19 case update and will direct inquiries on daily case numbers and demographic data to the NCDHHS website.  County status reports will be issued weekly on Monday afternoons.

The Health Department reminds county residents to wear face masks in public, watch your distance to maintain social distancing of six feet or more, and wash hands thoroughly and frequently.  If you are sick, please stay home and away from others; for guidance on testing and treating symptoms, please call your primary care physician or the Health Department at (919) 718-4640.
