LEE COUNTY LIBRARIES HOSTS LOCAL QUIZ BOWL

May 15, 2019 – Lee County Libraries (LCL) will host their annual North Carolina Quiz Bowl 2019 on Tuesday, June 25th at 6:30 PM.  The event will take place at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center located at 1801 Nash Street in Sanford and is open to all residents that would like to test their knowledge of Lee County and North Carolina history and current events.

The Jeopardy-style trivia game consists of two rounds of ninety questions in a variety of topic areas specific to Lee County or North Carolina.  The contestant with the highest point total after two rounds wins the prestigious title of “NC Quiz Bowl Champion of the Year”. There are no age restrictions for contestants; however, contestant spots are limited.

“The Library staff really enjoys putting on this event for our community history buffs,” said Beth List, Lee County Director of Library Services.  “Some questions are pulled from past quiz bowls and then we create others. We always have a few that will stump even the most seasoned historian. We want to give contestants a chance to show off their knowledge about our great state but also show that there is always more to learn!”

This year the 2019 North Carolina Quiz Bowl is co-sponsored by the Lee County Railroad House Historical Society.
