BOARD CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR SELECTED AFTER SWEARING-IN OF NEWLY ELECTED COMMISSIONERS

December 4, 2018 – Lee County Government (LCG) held a Swearing-In Ceremony for newly elected county commissioners on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 4:30 PM.  The newly elected commissioners include all four representing specific county commission districts; the three at-large seats have two years remaining in their terms. 

District commissioners including Commissioner Robert Reives, Commissioner Kirk Smith and Commissioner Arianna Del Palazzo were all sworn in by District Court Judge, the Honorable Jimmy L. Love, Jr.  Commissioner Andre Knecht was sworn-in by County Attorney, Whitney Parrish on Friday, November 30th.

Following the Swearing-In Ceremony and Reception, the County Attorney opened the December 3, 2018 regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners (BOC) and presided over the opening business including the vote for the new Board Chair and Vice-Chair of the BOC; the BOC meeting schedule for the upcoming year; and the approval of the surety bonds for select government employees.

The BOC unanimously voted for Commissioner Amy Dalrymple to serve as the Board Chair and in a 4-2-1 vote, selected Commissioner Kevin Dodson to serve as the Board Vice-Chair.  The BOC also determined that regular board meetings would continue to be held on the first and third Mondays of the month at 6:00 PM in the Board Room of the Lee County Government Center located at 106 Hillcrest Drive in Sanford.  All required surety bonds were also approved.
