Swim Lesson Class Descriptions

IPAP Infant and Preschool Aquatics Program Age: 6 months –36 months.
This class is for parent and child.  The skills taught include: holding positions, cueing, and roles for helping your child learn basic safety skills. 

Level 1 Water Exploration Ages: 3-5.
This class is taught on the steps in the shallow end of the pool.  The goal is for the children to become aware of safety rules and become comfortable in the water.  They are also introduced to very basic beginner strokes and water safely.

Level 2 Primary Skills (child must be at least 5 years old)
The objective is to give student success with fundamental skills.  They begin true movement on the water including floating alone and basic strokes. 

Level 3 Stroke Readiness (Prerequisite-Level 2 or Level 2 skills)
This class builds on the level 2 skills by providing additional guided practice.   This class will include an introduction of new strokes, treading water, and safe diving instruction. 

Level 4 Stroke Development (Prerequisite- Level 3 or Level 3 skills)
The goal is to develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far, learn new strokes, and increase their endurance by swimming greater distances.
